Frequently Asked Questions
A few questions I’m often asked about my flowers, weddings and workshops. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, just get in touch - I’m always happy to chat.
About my flowers
Where are you based?
My studio is on our family farm in Hilperton, Wiltshire, just outside Trowbridge and within easy reach of Bath.
It’s where I create my floral designs, grow some of my own flowers and host my seasonal workshops.
Do you grow your own flowers?
Yes! I’ve always been a keen gardener, and what started as a lockdown project building raised beds has grown into a real love of growing flowers from seed.
I now grow flowers in my cutting garden and use many of my homegrown blooms in my wedding flowers wherever the season allows. I also dry flowers throughout the year, giving them a second life in my workshops and floral creations.
Do you only use British flowers?
I work predominantly with fresh, seasonal flowers, sourcing locally wherever possible.
I love working with what’s naturally available at different times of the year, and my own cutting garden plays a part too. Where a particular flower or variety isn’t available, I’ll source the best alternative I can.
Can I request particular flowers?
Absolutely. If there’s a flower you particularly love, tell me!
I can’t always guarantee a specific variety because flowers are seasonal and availability can be affected by weather and growing conditions, but I’ll always do my best to incorporate your favourites where possible.
Can you work with my colour scheme?
Yes. Colour is one of my favourite parts of creating wedding and event flowers.
Whether you’re dreaming of soft whites and greens, pretty pastels or something much bolder and brighter, we’ll talk through the colours you love and create a floral palette that works beautifully for your occasion.
Wedding flowers
How far in advance should I book my wedding flowers?
It’s never too early to get in touch, particularly if you have a popular wedding date or are getting married during the summer months.
That said, if your wedding is coming up sooner, please still ask. I’m sometimes able to accommodate shorter lead times depending on my availability.
How much does wedding flower design cost?
Every wedding is different, so I don’t offer a one-size-fits-all package.
Your flowers might be a beautiful bridal bouquet and a few buttonholes, or a much larger floral scheme including ceremony flowers, table arrangements and installations.
I’ll work with you to understand your ideas, priorities and budget, then suggest where your flowers will have the greatest impact.

How do I secure my wedding date?
A £250 booking payment secures your date.
Once I’ve received your booking payment and you’ve accepted your quotation, your wedding date is confirmed.
The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before your wedding date.
Can I make changes after I've booked?
Of course. Wedding plans have a habit of evolving!
If you need to make changes to your flowers, let me know as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to accommodate them.
Depending on the changes and how close we are to your wedding, there may be an additional cost.
Do you deliver and set up the flowers?
Yes, I can offer delivery, set-up and styling depending on your requirements and venue.
We’ll agree all the details as part of your wedding quotation, including timings and any collection arrangements.
For larger weddings, I also have my wonderful team of flower fairies to help me bring everything together on the day.
Can you create wedding flowers in a particular style?
Definitely.
Perhaps you love flowers that look as though they’ve just been gathered from an English country garden, full of movement and seasonal abundance. Or perhaps you prefer something more formal, elegant and structured.
I’ll work with your ideas, your venue and the season to create flowers that feel personal to you.
Do you offer DIY wedding flowers?
Yes. My DIY flower buckets are a lovely option if you’d like to create your own wedding flowers.
For £65, you’ll receive a large bucket of fresh, seasonal flowers selected to work beautifully together. You can then arrange them yourself into posies, jam jars and little clusters.
It’s perfect if you enjoy being creative and love the idea of a relaxed, just-gathered-from-the-garden look.
Flowers for other occasions
Do you create flowers for birthdays and celebrations?
Yes! Flowers are wonderful for marking all sorts of occasions.
I create flowers for birthdays, anniversaries, dinner parties, private gatherings, corporate events and other special occasions.
If you have something in mind, get in touch and we can chat about what would work.
Do you create flowers for celebrations of life?
Yes. I understand that choosing flowers for a celebration of life can be a particularly difficult and emotional time.
I’ll take the time to understand what you’re looking for and create flowers that feel personal and appropriate for the occasion.
I’m also used to working to shorter timescales where needed and will always do my best to help.
Can you create something bespoke?
Absolutely.
If you have an idea that isn’t covered elsewhere on the website, I’d love to hear about it.
Tell me a little about your occasion, your date, your venue and what you have in mind, and we can take it from there.
Where do your workshops take place?
My workshops take place at my studio on our family farm in Hilperton, Wiltshire, just outside Trowbridge.
It’s a relaxed, informal setting where we can get stuck in, get a little bit messy and enjoy being creative with flowers.
Do I need any previous floristry experience?
Not at all!
My workshops are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, whether you’re completely new to floristry or already love working with flowers.
I’ll guide you through everything step by step, but there’s plenty of room to put your own stamp on what you create.
What do I need to bring?
Usually, just yourself!
I provide the flowers, materials, tools and everything you need for the workshop. I’ll let you know beforehand if there’s anything specific you need to bring.
For workshops involving foliage or outdoor areas, I recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting a little bit messy and suitable footwear.
What happens if I can't make my Christmas wreath workshop?
Christmas wreath workshops are non-refundable, as I order foliage and materials specifically for each person booked.
But don't panic if something comes up.
Let me know as soon as you can and I’ll do my best to move you to another available workshop date.
If that isn’t possible, I can make your wreath for you using the materials ordered for your place, and you can arrange to collect it from the studio.
Can I book a private workshop?
Yes!
Private floral workshops can be a lovely option for a hen party, birthday, Christmas gathering or simply a get-together with friends.
I can create a workshop around your group, the season and the occasion.
Get in touch and we can chat about what you have in mind.
Do you run workshops throughout the year?
Yes. I love working with the changing seasons, so my workshops vary throughout the year depending on what’s growing and what feels right for the time of year.
Previous and upcoming workshops include flower crowns, Mother's Day posies and Christmas wreath making.
Keep an eye on my Events page for what's coming up.
Booking and practical questions
How do I book?
For weddings and larger events, the best place to start is by getting in touch with a little information about what you’re looking for.
For workshops, you can book directly through the relevant event page when tickets are available.
If you’re not sure what you need, just ask. I’m very happy to have a chat before you book.
How do I pay?
Payment arrangements depend on what you’re booking.
For weddings, a £250 booking payment secures your date, with the remaining balance due 8 weeks before your wedding.
Workshop places are confirmed once payment has been received.
I’ll confirm the payment options when you enquire or book.
Can I collect flowers from the studio?
Yes, where collection has been agreed.
I’ll confirm your collection time when you place your order so that your flowers are ready and in the best possible condition.
Will my flowers look exactly like a photograph I've seen?
Probably not exactly - and that’s part of the beauty of working with seasonal flowers!
Flowers vary naturally in colour, shape and size, and availability changes throughout the year.
I use photographs as inspiration rather than a blueprint, creating something with a similar feel while allowing the flowers available at the time to do their thing.
How long will my fresh flowers last?
This depends on the flowers, the time of year and where they’re displayed.
Fresh flowers generally last longest when kept somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight, radiators and other sources of heat.
I’ll give you care advice where appropriate so you can enjoy your flowers for as long as possible.
What if I have a question that isn't answered here?
Just ask!
Every wedding, event and floral commission is different, so if you’re wondering about something I haven’t covered here, pop me a message.
I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
